Exploding the boundaries of pop music

June 4, 2016, 10:45-11:30 PM*
Grants Block Stage / 250 Westminster St.

Arguably no Providence-based band has garnered as much national acclaim as Arc Iris since the Low Anthem – which is fitting, since that’s the band in which Arc Iris frontwoman Jocie Adams got her start.

Arc Iris’ music is fiercely bold and experimental, yet retains enough folk/pop DNA to be immediately recognizable as something accessible and compelling. Adams, keyboardist Zach Tenorio-Miller, and drummer Ray Belli form the core of the band, and they strive to carry on the songwriting tradition of all-time greats like Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and Leonard Cohen. Since their critically adored 2014 debut, they have shared the stage with indie stars like St. Vincent, Jeff Tweedy, and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and played high profile venues like L.A.’s Greek Theater, London’s Palladium, and Tennessee’s Bonnaroo. Their PVDFest performance will feature the talents of some special friends, artists of a different sort…
