Chachi Carvalho has established himself as one of the most prolific and enduring artists on the local hip-hop scene.
The positive messages and everyday struggles reflected in his music have made him a fan favorite. Rooted in classic hip-hop, Chachi’s sound is constantly evolving, seamlessly incorporating both live instrumentation and his Cape Verdean roots. He comes from a long line of singers and musicians, and he’s a born-and-raised Rhode Islander, coaching football and opening a recording studio in his hometown of Pawtucket. In his career he’s won acclaim from Vibe magazine in its roundup of the best MCs state to state, and he was a two-time winner of the Wild Out Wednesdays competition on BET’s 106 & Park. Last year he delighted crowds at the inaugural Providence International Arts Festival, and returns to PVDFest this year to uplift the party with beats, rhymes, and life.
