“The funky guitar riffs and crisp horns grab a hold of your ears as Teters’ cozy alto vocals urge your feet to the dancefloor.” –Vibe

Mixing old school vibes with a forward-thinking sound, Mad Satta is an eight-piece future soul ensemble that recently released its debut album, Comfort, produced by three-time Grammy winner Prince Charles Alexander. Led by the searing, sultry vocals of frontwoman Joanna Teters, this New York band mixes jazz, soul and modern day funk into its own unique blend. This is new school soul, held down by an ultra-tight rhythm section, funky organs and guitars, and brassy horn blasts. Teters seduces her audience with playful, energetic performances, mixing originals with covers of both classics (Curtis Mayfield) and neo-classics (Amy Winehouse). Mad Satta switches effortlessly from lush, deeply sultry tones to rugged reggae, leaving no dancefloor empty.
