“The Columbus Cooperative sure knows what it’s doing. It lures national indie artists to the stage, but also keeps local musicians in rotation and up on the marquee.” –Rhode Island Monthly
“We are not in the least afraid of ruins… We carry a new world here, in our hearts,” said famed Spanish anarchist Buenaventura Durruti. In that spirit, the Columbus Cooperative and the Imaginary Company present the One Providence Experience in the shadow of the historic façade that once housed Downtown’s Providence National Bank. From performing in the decaying mill buildings of Olneyville to breathing new life into the antique Columbus Theatre, these artists and performers have created vibrant events and culture on the fringes of the Creative Capital, in places most of us would otherwise ignore. Now they bring same creative energy into the Providence International Arts Festival with performances by some of the leading lights in local and regional music, including the Low Anthem, Gym Shorts, And the Kids, Ravi Shavi, Medusah Black and more. Visuals by the Imaginary Company will enhance the show, delivering an experience that is distinctly and wonderfully Providence.
