“One of the top 10 Short Film Festivals and Top 10 International Film Festivals in the United States. The RIIFF provides the kind of intimate festival experience that will change your life. Don’t miss it.” -The Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide

The Rhode Island International Film Festival is the largest film festival in New England, and considered one of the top 10 in the country. It’s an Academy Award-qualifying festival, and over its 19 years 37 films that either premiered or were discovered there have received Oscar nominations, with eight winners. Now you can take a look back at some of those auspicious debuts with Flickers’ Short Film Retrospective: Journeys in Filmmaking. This special screening will open the vaults of RIIFF and unearth a series of award-winning films, including live action, narratives and music videos. This will serve as a preview event for the full festival, which returns August 4-9, and this programming is part of its recent grant from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.
