Video and lessons for grades 9-12

FirstWorks Education is excited to offer K-12 educators these virtual lessons to accompany our performing artists for the 2020-21 season. The educational landscape has changed, but FirstWorks has not wavered in its commitment to presenting K-12 students from across Rhode Island with significant artistic experiences tied to curricula standards.

Collectively, all of our education programs tie in with arts integration education, Social Emotional Learning, the FirstWorks Raise Your Voice initiative to amplify diverse voices and celebrate difference through the performing arts, and the FirstWorks’ Earth First initiative to use the arts to support science education.

These virtual lessons, based in Google Slides, are configured in the following way:
• Background information about the artist
• Curricula standards tied to grade-specific lessons
• Performance videos and education videos that support the lessons
• Student worksheets and resources
