FirstWorks is providing opportunities

Jazz at Lincoln Center’s
Jazz for Young People Program

This past season, FirstWorks’ participating schools worked with Jazz at Lincoln Center musicians and local teaching artists to make connections between jazz and democracy.

FirstWorks’s collaboration with Wynton Marsalis’ Jazz for Young People program encompasses professional development for teachers and artist residencies with workshops, custom curricula and a culminating performance.

Our previous arts-integration projects have focused on Jazz and Math and on the cultural legacy of the Jazz Age and Harlem Renaissance.
