Found Object Mask-Making Workshop
with Celebrity Costume Designer Machine Dazzle

June 11, 2020, 4:00 PM

Create your very own over-the-top face mask in this hands-on Zoom workshop for all ages. No experience or shopping required! The theme of the event is MUSIC. Participants will be guided to create a piece inspired by a favorite song, lyric or genre using RECYCLED materials FOUND around the house, in the garden or on a walk in a park. Just bring your creativity!

To prepare for the workshop, begin by brainstorming ideas related to the theme of MUSIC. Then, start setting aside items such as bottlecaps, egg cartons, plastic drinking straws, dried leaves, colorful cardboard scraps, and more! The sky’s the limit.

On the day of the workshop, try to have these basic materials on hand, but don’t stress if you don’t have everything. We’ll do our best to help you improvise!

• Construction paper
• Scissors
• Markers
• Hot glue
• Glue sticks
• Colorful duct tape/clear strapping tape
• Pencil

Things to think about in advance:
• How will you attach everything together? Glue/sewing
• What are you attaching it to? Consider the foundation of your mask/headdress

• Lastly, it’s important to think about what the BASE OF YOUR MASK WILL BE. Have this ready before the workshop begins so that you can BUILD on top of it.
