A restless virtuoso”

Artistic icon Chick Corea has 22 Grammy wins—the most of any jazz artist, ever! He is both one of the most influential jazz artists of his generation and one of the greatest living jazz pianists.

Chick and drummer Steve Gadd’s musical partnership is the stuff of legend—but the music is always new. Since Gadd became the first electric drummer for Chick’s seminal jazz fusion band Return to Forever in the 1970’s, these two have turned out one game-changing record after another. Now, co-leading a band for the first time, they pick up where they left off, this time with young guns filling out the lineup: Lionel Loueke, the Beninian genius on guitar; Steve Wilson, Chick’s Origin protégé, on sax and flute; the great Carlitos Del Puerto on bass; and Venezuelan master Luisito Quintero on percussion. It’s a coup to bring these venerated maestros to Rhode Island—catch them live on the brink of their new album release this fall!
