The Haitian hip-hop ambassador

PVDFest June 8, 2019, 10:00 PM
The City Stage Sponsored by Waste Management
25 Dorrance St. Downtown Providence*

Unfortunately, U.S. Customs prevented Vox Sambou from entering the country on June 8. His 7 stellar band members were able to join us for a PVDFest-style mash-up with local icon Chachi Carvalho to close the PVDFest City Stage with an amazing concert experience!.

A sharp-witted lyricist and classy showman, Vox Sambou captivates audiences with a mash-up of socially conscious hip-hop that integrates Haitian roots music, Afrobeat, Latin grooves, and reggae beats.

The Montreal-based MC and activist has been called “the eternal voice of Haiti,” a “Haitian hip hop ambassador” and a “key figure on the progressive front of the Rap Kreyòl movement.” An unflinching, passionate and compassionate performer Vox’s boundless energy on stage with his six-piece band wins over every crowd.
